Moxie knits
Well, it's Moxie's bones that are knitting. This saturday we made the mistake of letting our greyhound run around in a fenced yard. And she broke her toe. Check it out - on the far right of the picture, that swollen sausage? That's one of her toe bones, broken into several pieces. The other paw is shown for scale.
And then on Sunday, our iguana decided to get in on the fun, too, and he went and broke his tail. Click to zoom in for the full effect. The tail is dead beyond this break, and a little in front of it. He's going in for surgery in the morning.

Interestingly, it will grow back with cartilage in place of bone.
Also interestingly, I read somewhere that iguanas above a certain size/age don't always bother growing their tails back. (They don't really need the predator defense, and I guess they get along just fine without it). But the vet expects Riff to grow his back.
